FAQ

How would you describe your photographic style?

Wedding Photojournalism with a healthy mix of candid and spontaneous moments with creative & high fashion portraiture.

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?

Yes. I’ve taken the time to experiment with all sorts of lighting environments. I’m comfortable with anything your event will have.

Is your media preference film or digital?

Digital. I do also have a film camera that I can work with.

How many photographers do you work with?

I usually work by myself. For larger events I bring an assistant to help me with equipment, lighting, and other miscellaneous tasks so that I can focus on the photography.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?

Yes. If something were to happen on or before the wedding day where it is physically impossible for me to be there, I can find someone to replace me quickly.

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one wedding in a day? Weekend?

I try to only book one wedding at a time. I enjoy taking my time to give you the best photos possible. One at a time allows me to not rush and take my time with everything.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day of?

Camera, lenses, flashes, manuals, memory cards, laptop, etc…

Do you charge hourly or full day?

All of my wedding packages include unlimited wedding day coverage.

Do you require a meal break? If yes, do you require that the wedding party provide your meal?

Yes, I prefer if the bride & groom provide a meal for me during the reception. This allows me to be available to shoot anytime during the dinner, for those spontaneous events. This seems to work out the best.

How many breaks do you usually take throughout the day?

The only “breaks” I would take would be during transitional periods where nothing is planned, such as going to the reception after the ceremony. Otherwise I work from start to finish.

Do you charge for travel?

All of my packages include free travel for weddings within 150 miles of my home. Anything over 150 miles requires airfare or gas, hotel & car rentals (if applicable). If flying, Airfare will need to be bought for two, my assistant and I.

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?

Some of the photos will be ready within a week. After that 2-3 weeks is an appropriate time frame for the completion of the photos. If you live locally I really enjoy meeting with the Bride & Groom when they see the photos for the first time. Otherwise I post them on a gallery for you to browse.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?

Online or in person.

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?

Yes. The bride and groom will be allowed to print the photos up to any size at any lab of their choice. They have the right to use the photos for personal purposes. No commercial use.

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?

Yes.

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the couple?

Yes. Every wedding includes a DVD containing the edited wedding day images and will also receive a reproduction release signed by myself. (The Engagement session that is included in every package includes a 16×20 from that session with the option to purchase that DVD for $100.)

Will images be available for viewing on an online gallery?

Yes, if requested.

What kind of albums do you offer?

High Quality flush mount coffee table book albums in either a square, landscape or portrait orientation.

When will I get the final album?

Usually about 1-2 months after the wedding day, as long as emails are being answered by the bride/groom in a timely manner.
